Content Overview

The Content tool allows you to post and organize relevant learning materials (Ex. syllabus, course schedule, lecture slides, readings, etc) for course participants. Materials you can post in Content include:

  • Documents
  • Images
  • Audio/Video files
  • Links
  • Course activities (Discussions, Quizzes, Assignment Folders, Surveys, etc.).

To access the Content tool, click the Content link in the navigation bar at the top of the screen.

Understanding the Organization of Content


When participants access the Content page of a course site for the first time they will arrive at the Overview page. You can use the Overview page to provide participants a description of the course and to explain how the course will function, what is needed for success, etc.. There are two ways to add an Overview:

1. Enter the overview directly into the HTML Editor by clicking Add a welcome message, overview, or description, located beneath the Overview title.


2. Add a file you would like participants to see by clicking the Add Attachment link beneath the Overview title, then drag the file to the drag and drop field.

Tip: If you don't want to use the Overview page leave it blank and course participants won't see the Overview link in Content.



Content topics you bookmark appear in a list on the Bookmarks page.

To add a bookmark, click the Add Bookmark icon while viewing a Content topic.

Course Schedule

The Course Schedule page lists upcoming start, due and end dates for the next seven days.

Please Note: The dates listed on this page are not exclusive to Content topics; Upcoming events include all events within the course Calendar tool. Click Full Schedule to view all past, current, and future course events.

Table of Contents

The Table of Contents allows you to view and manage all modules and topics. It is from this screen that you can add and modify your course materials.
