Classlist & Email for Instructors

The Classlist
The Classlist in D2L provides a convenient method of communicating with and tracking your students.  It is automatically populated with students who have enrolled in your course.  You and any other people who have access to your course site will also appear in the list.

D2L Email
D2L Email is a convenient way to communicate with anyone enrolled in your course site(s).  It is separate from the University of Arizona's Webmail system, but all D2L email can be forwarded to any address you choose.

Common Uses

  • Get information about your course's participants: The Classlist gives instructors access to a student's profile, locker, homepage and group enrollments. 
  • Communicate with your students: If you do not know the email address of a student you can use the Classlist to find the student and to send D2L Email. Using the classlist you can send D2L email or a page to all students in your course, students in specific sections, students in specific groups or individual students.
  • View your students' progress in the course: The User Progress icon user progress icon gives the instructor access to information about a student's activities within their course site.  If you want to know if your student has visited a particular reading or participated in a discussion, for example, this tool is a great place to start.
