About the FAQs Tool

FAQs stands for Frequently Asked Questions. The FAQ tool allows you to collect and answer common questions that students may have about the course or an individual topic. FAQs can be clustered in categories or simply listed for the student to read through.

To access FAQ from your Course Home page, click the FAQ link on the course navigation bar located near the top of the screen. Location of FAQ on the course home navbar

The Manage FAQ window will open and and has four icons that run along the top of the screen: Question List, New Category, New Question, and Re-Order.

Creating FAQ Categories

All questions must belong to a Category. A Category will not be available to students if it does not contain any questions. To create a new FAQ Category:

  1. Click New Category.
  2. location of new category in manage FAQ screen

  3. Type the name of your FAQ Category in the Name field.
  4. new FAQ category screen where you name the category and can give a description

  5. You may enter a description of the types of questions and answers students can expect to find in the category in the Description text box.
  6. Click Save to save your category. You can also click Save and New to continue adding categories.

Creating FAQ Questions

All questions must belong to a category. Click here to learn how to create new categories. To create a new Question:

  1. Click New Question from the Manage FAQ menu, or click the New Question icon New Question Icon to the right of the category you would like to add questions to.

  3. Using the Category drop down menu, select the category you would like question to be added to. If you would like the question to be part of a category that you have not yet created, click the New Category link to create a new category.
  4. Type the questions in the Question text box.
  5. Type the answer to the question in the Answer text box.
  6. Click Save to save your question. You can also click Save and New to continue adding questions.

Editing FAQ Categories and Questions

To edit an FAQ Category or Question:

  1. Click on the Category or Question name you would like to edit.
  2. Make the desired changes.
  3. Click Save to save your changes.

Re-Ordering FAQ Categories and Questions 

To change the order of FAQCategories and Questions  you have created:

  1. Click Re-Order from the Manage FAQ menu.

  3. Use the drop down menus to the right of each Category and Question to select the order you would like them to appear in.
  4. Click Save to save the order.

Deleting FAQ Categories and Questions

PLEASE NOTE: DELETING A CATEGORY WILL PERMANENTLY DELETE ANY QUESTIONS THAT ARE ASSOCIATED WITH THAT CATEGORY.

To delete FAQ Categories or Questions, click the Delete Delete Icon icon to the right of the Category or Question you would like to delete.
