Quiz Reports Setup

Quiz Reports allow you to generate a variety or reports containing statistics about options such as Question Statistics, Question Details, user Statistics, Attempts Details and User Attempts. Additionally, you can specify which roles (Instructor, TA, Grader, etc) can view the report.

To setup a report within your quiz do the following:

2. Click the Add Report button.


Within the New Report page you will have the following options:

3. Report Name: Enter a name for this report. Try to assign a name that summarizes the information contained within this report. Example: Question Statistics Show Instructors

4. Report Type: Select the type of report you wish to generate, along with the details you want included within the report, from the following options:

Question Statistics:

  • Display class average: Displays a bar graph showing the average grade obtained for all participants who attempted this quiz.
  • Display score distribution: Displays a graph showing the distribution of the grades achieved for all participants who attempted this quiz.
  • Include bonus questions: Includes bonus questions in the report.
  • Show Out Of value: Includes the maximum possible points available for that question and the corresponding percentage earned.
  • Display Standard Deviation: Includes the standard deviation for each question.
  • Display Point Biserial: Includes the point biserial correlation coefficient for each question.
  • Display Discrimination Index: Includes the display discrimination index for each question.

Question Details:

  • Display difficulty for each question: If you have set difficulty levels within each question, this option will include the difficulty level for each question in the report. For more information about setting difficulty levels within questions reference the T/F Question Help Page.
  • Include text responses: Includes long answer questions in the report.
  • Include bonus questions: Includes bonus questions in the report.
  • Display private comments from sections: Includes any private comments you have entered in a question section. Because of this it is suggested that the report not be released to participants that will take the quiz as these private comments will become visible to them.   • Display Standard Deviation: Includes the standard deviation for each question.
  • Display Point Biserial: Includes the point biserial correlation coefficient for each question.
  • Display Discrimination Index: Includes the display discrimination index for each question.

Users Statistics:

  • Display class average: Displays a bar graph showing the average grade obtained for all participants who attempted this quiz.
  • Display score distribution: Displays a graph showing the distribution of the grades achieved for all participants who attempted this quiz.
  • Display Org Defined ID: Includes participants Org Defined IDs in the report.

Attempt Details:

  • Display Org Defined ID: Includes participants Org Defined IDs in the report.
  • Display attempt duration: Includes the start and end times, and duration of time spent, by participants in each quiz attempt within the report.

User Attempts:

  • Display Org Defined ID: Includes participants Org Defined IDs in the report.

5. Release: Select whether to make the report available immediately or after a specific date and time by placing a bullet next the preferred option.

6. Release Report To: Place a check mark next to each user role that should be granted access to this report.

Important: If the report will contain FERPA protected information be sure that only members of the instructional team are provided access to the report

7. Click the Save button when finished.
