Self Assessments Overview

Self Assessments is a formative tool that allows a student to assess what he or she knows or understands about a particular topic.  It is a great tool to encourage students to self reflect and encourage them to be self directed in their own learning.  Question types are similar to those in quizzes but there are no point values associated with the questions or a level of difficulty indication.  With self assessments students focus on the content and not on the grade as it is an ungraded activity in a course.

To access the Self Assessments tool, click the Self Assessments link in the course navigation bar at the top of the screen.

Please Note: The Self Assessments tool is not loaded on course navigation bars by default. If you'd like to use this tool in your course, you will need to add a link to it on your course's navigation bar. For more information about modifying your course navigation bar, go to our Modifying Navbars help page.
