How do I upload a file to Content?

When you upload a file to content you are creating a  "File Topic".  Topics can only be added to "Modules".  A module is essentially an organizational buildng block for your course,  For example, some courses are organized by units, others may be organized by weeks or by book chapters.  To upload a file or create a File Topic you need to first create your unit (module) or your week (module) depending on how you organize your course.

What is a module and why and how do I create one?

The first step in putting content into your D2l course is to create a "module".  A module can be thought of as a unit or a chapter or a week in your course.  Essentially it is an organizational building block for your course.  Content, such as a file or a link can only be added to your course within a "module".   So the first step to putting content in your course is creating a "module"
