Instructor: Viewing Grades

1. Manage: Control how you view grades

Control whether you see, points, percentages, letter grades or any combination when you are in grades.

  1. Click on Grades.Imageof navigation bar with grades link circled
  2. Click on Settings. Settings link in Grades circled in red.

     

  3. Be default you land on "Managing View Display Options" which are the options you set for your own view of grades.
  4. Under Grade Details, check the appropriate boxes: Points, Grade Symbol (which is either percentage or Letter depending on your grade scheme) grade scheme color (different colors display based on percentage student has earned in the course).Image of Personal Display options page in grades settings with grade details checkboxes circled

     

  5. Click Save.
  6. Click Close.

2.  Manage:  Control how students see their grades

Control what your students see when they check grades, points, percentages, letter grades or any combination.

  4.   5. Click Save.
  6. Click Close.

3. View:  See grades as a student

View grades as a particular student.

The Instructor view of grades is not the same as the student view of grades which frequently leads to confusion when students contact instructors about grades.  To verify what a student sees when she checks grades, an instructor can view grades from the student view using the following steps:

  1. Click on Grades in the navbar.Image of nav bar with grades circled
  2. Make sure you are in the Enter Grades view.Grades with the manage grades tab circled at top left

     

  3. Locate the student for which you want to view grades and click on the inverted triangle to the right of their name.
  4. Select Preview. Context menu for a student selected, Preview option circled in red.

     

  5. The result is the student view of grades when they click on grades in the navbar.screen shot of the student view of grades
